Metropolitan Boston Housing Partnership (MBHP) is the state’s largest regional provider of rental housing assistance, serving homeless, elderly, disabled, and low-income individuals and families in Boston and 29 surrounding communities.

Our primary role is the administration of government-funded rental assistance subsidies including the Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8), the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (MRVP), and specialized voucher programs to provide supports for specific populations including veterans, elders, and people with disabilities.

We also offer homelessness prevention and housing supports through our Housing Consumer Education Center, our Scattered Site Family Emergency Shelter, and the Boston Homelessness Prevention Clearinghouse. These programs help individuals and families who are homeless, at-risk of becoming homeless, or who are moving from shelter to permanent housing.

In addition to our programs for tenants, we offer a variety of services for property owners and first-time homebuyers, including home modification assistance, affordable homeownership opportunities, and leasing assistance.

For more information about any of our programs, please contact MBHP’s Housing Consumer Education Center at 617-425-6700.
